You must decide what it is you want to focus on, then not let yourself be interrupted away from that, especially if you are just starting out. Start with only 1-3 things then as you do well you will learn how to apply what you learned to any new scheme or idea you want to.
Once you decide what it is you want to focus on then you can start honing that focus. Fine tune it so to speak. Understand to do the things that will bring the object of your focus to the peak of success. For example automating as a lot of the daily tasks as possible, researching and gaining any knowledge required to bring success in the area you have chosen, using the power of a good viral site that will help you build your programs from one site etc.
Regardless of what you have heard or been advised, most money made on the Internet does not come easy. You will have to have a system set up with a well laid out plan on how to make that system work efficiently.
