The games of Snooker and Pool have been around for many years in one form or another, however over the past few years the game has become more popular.
Manufacturers of the various tables and equipment are very aware of this trend and have started to accommodate the market in a number of ways.
Snooker & Pool Tables have one very evident difference, and that is the size, a snooker table is significantly bigger than a pool table.
The other noticeable difference would be in the pocket size generally a snooker table has smaller pocket dimensions.
These would be the most apparent a noticeable differences, should you wish a challenge you would be more likely to choose the game of snooker.
The participants of either pool or snooker would argue that their discipline is harder however as a general rule snooker could be construed as slightly harder allowing for the greater size of table or playing surface.
Both games are played with cues and balls however, the differences in the snooker table do make it harder IE larger playing surface accompanied by smaller balls and pockets.
If you make the decision to play regularly or even purchase your own table , it will take slightly longer to perfect the game.

As your game progresses you may find it becomes an integral part of your social life.If you are fortunate enough to have the required space at home for a table you may find you become the focal point of social gatherings, Therefore the best advice would be to start playing pool or snooker.
Various manufacturers and suppliers will provide equipment and accessories to match most budgets, but with any purchase it will pay dividends in the long run to carry out due diligence prior to making any commitments.
